The ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2013 (ASEAN BIS 2013), ASEAN’s premier annual business event, will be held alongside the ASEAN Economic Ministers meeting (AEM) in Brunei Darussalam during the period of August 19th – 22nd 2013. The ASEAN BIS 2013 is organised by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) with the support of the Government of Brunei Darussalam.
The ASEAN BIS 2013 provides the business community with an opportunity to highlight prioritised concerns needed to boost trade and investment; and importantly, as the ASEAN economic community takes shape, to ensure that economic growth is on track, sustainable and inclusive.
Participants will be able to obtain an update on the progress towards the ASEAN Economic Community and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) and the type of opportunities the RCEP will create for business. RCEP will be the world’s largest Free Trade Agreement (FTA) linking the 10 ASEAN countries with China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand.

The ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN BIS) is the premier and pre-eminent Business and Investment event in ASEAN.
Organised annually by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC), ASEAN BIS provides a platform for the business community to engage with ASEAN Leaders and Economic Ministers as well as key decision makers. This annual summit aims to increase ASEAN’s attractiveness as a region for trade and investment and enhances regional competitiveness.
ASEAN BIS brings together prominent Government, Business and Thought Leaders to discuss issues of strategic importance to ASEAN and East Asia. It also provides a platform for sharinf of ideas, information and best practices. ASEAN BIS enables participants to be updted on new trends and challenges and to evaluate how these will impact on business.
